When Sami unearths some family secrets, she has to flee England. With everything she's based her life on feeling uncertain, she decides to rediscover herself in the coastal town of Cypress Cove. On the way to California she makes a bucket list of things to do while in America. She never planned on meeting a man like Nick. With each item they check off her list, Samantha falls just a little more for him.

Nick lives a simple life in his hometown Cypress Cove, renting out kayaks and surfboards and running his vacation rentals. He's been single since college and for his own reasons doesn't believe he can pursue romance ever again. When Samantha moves in next door, Nick decides to help her with her bucket list as a way to break up the monotony of his life while helping out the new woman in town.

Both Nick and Sami want to put the past behind them, but some secrets refuse to stay buried. When what they've been hiding catches up with them, will they be able to hold onto one another?
